“And now the “shared history of defense links between the Philippines and New Zealand during World War II or “The Strange Case of WWII “Victory” in the Philippines.

“The President noted that the Philippines was one of the two largest producers of geothermal power, but it was New Zealand that provided the Philippines help in harnessing this power source in the 1970s.

Early in the day, two private companies—Energy Development Corp. (EDC) of the Philippines (Lopez owned) and GNS Science of New Zealand—signed a separate business deal in the presence of Mr. Aquino in Auckland, his first stop in this state visit that took him to Wellington later in the day.”

We might just find out soon whether Aquino III will eventually clash with Mar Roxas II or it will be with the oligarchs.

Here’s another excerpt from Stanley Karnow’s “In Our Image” (1989)

Aquino Ninoy, threatened oligarchs with sequestration

If Korea with one land, one people and one language could be divided along ideological lines, what more with the Philippines which is a readily divided archipelago?

The Philippines WAS NEVER ONE NATION. We’re no different from the Native American tribes like Sioux, Navajo, Shoshone, Arapahoe, Comanche, Apache, Cherokee, Iroquois, Seminoles, etc. of North America.

The Philippines is in fact made up of at least eight nations.  Ilokano, Kapangpangan, Pangalatok, Zambal, Tagalog, Bicol, Waray, Bisaya (Cebuano) Ilonggo, not to mention the natives and indigenous peoples of Mindanao like the Tausugs.

Ilokanos have their own epic poem (Lam-Ang) and so does the Tagalogs (Florante at Laura), Bicols and other Filipino nations. If epic poems are not indicative of a nation, I don’t know what is.

So In fairness to ALL Filipinos the Marcoses, Aquinos, Roxases should form their own countries in their respective ancestral lands.  Those who want a Compact of Free Association with the U.K. or U.S. should be allowed to do so. Those who want  to revert back to being a U.S. Territory should negotiate with the U.S.’ Dept. of Interior.

To each his/her own. (By the way, non-Tagalogs should pay rent for the use of Tagalog lands. Negotiate now and avoid paying penalties, interests and late fees. I kid you not!)

2.)  “The eight distinct languages are Tagalog, Bicol (very similar to Maori language of New Zealand), Ilokano, Pangasinan, Kapangpang, Ilonggo, Waray, Cebuano.  Each of these nations has their own separate epic poems written in their own respective languages.”

American Cemetery in the Philippines Neglected – Veterans Outraged

May 26, 2013

According to Wikipedia the Liberation of the Philippines alone cost a total of 62,514 US Army & Air Force personnel killed and wounded. This does not include US Navy casualties from the Battle of the Philippine Sea and the Battle Off Leyte Gulf, naval battles attendant to the liberation of the Philippines.

Defense of the Philippines Bataan & Corregidor (1941 -1942)

US & filipino Casualties and losses
146,000
25,000 killed
21,000 wounded
100,000 captured[3]

=========================

While Guam had their 68th Liberation Day Parade last year, the Philippines has never held a single Liberation Day Parade. Not a single street, alley, bridge or building in the Philippines was named in honor of the Philippine Liberator Gen. Douglas MacArthur.

==========================

From 1946 to 1950 the US gave over $2 billion in aid to the Philippines under Roxas and Quirino to rebuild the country. But President Truman’s fact-finding mission reported that the money is gone. And obviously it went to landowners and unscrupulous businessmen oligarchs who are now richer than ever while the majority of the people’s standard of living has not risen to anywhere near the pre-war levels.

WHO WOULD IMAGINE with all the death and destruction brought by the war (WWII) and a decimated agricultural sector, the oligarch-traitors, their relatives & cronies would take advantage of the situation and enrich themselves instead?

Fast forward to October 2011: Despite 67 years of mismanaged economy, the Word Bank provided $2 billion funding to the illegitimate oligarch-supported government of Aquino III, the grandson of an oligarch-traitor.

Excerpt: “Bienvenido Macario writes: Come to think of it, the economies of Singapore like Hong Kong are dominated by ethnic Chinese. It’s the same with the Philippines. So why do the world’s wealth and OFW’s have to go to Singapore and Hong Kong?

The only difference is that Singapore and Hong Kong were former British colonies while the Philippines is an abandoned US territory.
