Alternative Approach to Fighting Terrorism – Philippines Today: YouTube Video (Bienvenido Macario, USA, 06/27/11 5:57 am)

“Here you will see the surreal contrast between the poorest of the poor and the 50 richest in the Philippines. By June 2012 the 50 richest in the Philippines was, on the average richer than the British Monarchy. Yet after WWII everyone in the Philippines was poor.

The sad reality is the fact that these 50 richest families in the Philippines never came to the U.S. to rob any bank or the U.S. Treasury. Washington DC, since 1946, has been funding, aiding and abetting, treason, corruption and oppression in that abandoned U.S. territory, the Philippines.”

================================

This unsolicited suggestion was made in a WAIS post on June 27, 2011 when the world has never heard of ISIS or ISIL (Daesh).

Well into the 21st Century ours is STILL a blood thirsty civilization. Four (4) years ago we’ve never heard of ISIS or ISIL (Daesh). Then they started beheading and executing men, women and children; destroying ancient artifacts. Viola! In a split second the world’s attention was trained on ISIS.

This excerpt is from 27 June 2011 years before violent. Bloody ISIS came into the picture.

Excerpt: “The situation in the Philippines is a unique opportunity for the US and the rest of the world to show Al-Qaeda and other extremists that resorting to terror does not work. America should intervene in the Philippines to prove that today’s technology is more effective in calling the world’s attention to the tragedy in the Philippines. And maybe Al-Qaeda and the Taliban will lose the support of the people they are supposed to be championing.”

Philippines Today: YouTube Video (Bienvenido Macario, USA, 06/27/11 5:57 am)

A video about abject poverty and the environmental degradation in the Philippines on YouTube proves my point that Filipinos are passive and the military are not prone to take matters into their own hands, even though the constitution states the military is the ultimate defender of the Filipino people.

Proud To Be Pinoy (Filipino)?  Don’t Be http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v1Q676tSCeI&feature=player_embedded

They say the video is not suitable for minors and contains disturbing images of poverty. I’m not qualified to give ratings.

The situation in the Philippines is a unique opportunity for the US and the rest of the world to show Al-Qaeda and other extremists that resorting to terror does not work. America should intervene in the Philippines to prove that today’s technology is more effective in calling the world’s attention to the tragedy in the Philippines. And maybe Al-Qaeda and the Taliban will lose the support of the people they are supposed to be championing.

JE comments:  The “Proud to be Pinoy?” video is considered appropriate only for those over 18, so sign-in will be required.  (This can be done in a couple of minutes.)

There are some gruesome images in the video, but nothing (really) you wouldn’t see on the TV news.

It’s intriguing that the author of the YouTube clip claims not to be a Marcos loyalist, but dates all of woes in the Philippines to 1986:  by default, Marcos presided over a happier age.  It’s therefore difficult to place the video on the left-right ideological spectrum.

A question for Bienvenido:  how prevalent is Marcos nostalgia in today’s Philippines?

I don’t think we’ll see the US intervening in the Philippines, ever.  Lots of nation-building going on already, and we learned our lesson there 100 years ago.
